Spring Break Part II

We were thrilled to spend more time in the backyard. The spring weather was good for all of us, even the chickens. We let the chickens out for a springtime stroll around the yard. They attacked my parsley and were grounded to their coop once again. Naughty chickens.

They boys began to wake up the local worm population from their winter hibernation. (Although I learned that the proper term is estivationEstivation is a form of hibernation that takes place when temperatures get too hot or too dry for earthworms. This is important science for toddlers and preschoolers.)

These boys love to be barefoot in the garden. It’s okay because you need to like barefoot gardening to fit into this family.

We also started tomatoes, peppers, and basil plants inside. We had a few seedlings die and Phin offered to have a plant funeral. Sweet.
